Perth & Perthshire

Beautifully located on the banks of the silvery Tay, Perth is the county town of Perthshire. Rich in history, it was once the capital of Scotland, a fact that was no doubt largely influenced by its geographical position in the heart of the country on the boundary between the Highlands and Lowlands. Today, Perth remains an important centre of commerce, agriculture and industry, but its proximity to the spectacular landscape of Highland Perthshire, its rivers, mountains, glens and lochs, also makes it a popular holiday destination and stopping-off point on the road north to Inverness.

River Tay The quality of life in Perth is among the best anywhere in the country. The pace is more relaxed than in the large cities; commuting times are short; the people are friendly; the town centre is lively and attractive; the sporting and leisure facilities are excellent; and the housing is affordable. In short, this is a fine place to live, work and raise a family. Little wonder, then, that Perth is known to many simply as the ' Fair City '.
